The Energy of Doorways

Doorways serve as part of the energy conduit and conductor system of our households. What we do ‘in’ a doorway or as we are crossing through them has the potential to influence the overall vibration of a room and our experience in it. So too does it ‘tune’ the energy that is attracted to our homes and hearth-spaces. This is article one in my brand new ‘High Vibe Household’ series.

Every single one of us has probably uttered a curse word, frustrated sentiment, or a sigh at the door as we have entered or left our home (or office, or bedroom). Each of us has probably also had an ‘argument’ or a ‘disagreement’ with at least one party involved standing in a doorway, such as with children or parents, or spouses. *In fact, doorways are very common places for these interactions to happen. Doorways are thresholds of expression. *

Every single interaction that we have in a doorway lays down an energy into it. That energy, over time, sets the ‘tone’ for future interactions in that zone of the home or office. You pass through this ‘energy window’ to enter and exit that space. It also can influence how the doorway performs as a conduit of energy to manage what gets in and out of the home, and how. Ever cross into an office or room and feel immediately lifted? That is the type of positive impact our doorways can have on us. Similarly, have you ever entered your room and felt safe from the world? Same deal.

If you happen to have a lower vibrational doorway interaction arise, make sure to cleanse the energy of the doorway afterward with your metaphysical tools. Smudging, affirmations, working with energy to repair, and speaking positive loving sentiments help to adjust out the energy. Doing it right away, especially after a particularly harsh feeling interaction will help balance the energy of the room. It will also make sure that it does not ‘linger’, thus lowering the vibration of your space in the long-term.

A powerful doorway serves as a filter system and barrier. One has the ability to block out energetic influences from crossing its thresh-hold. (This could even include creating a little bit of a shield from a brooding household member.) Taking care of the doorways in our homes, offices, and learning spaces is a powerful way to encourage positive engagement within them. It also helps to ensure that we are attracting high vibrational, beneficial energy into our hearth-space.

What happens in our homes affects us *in the workplace, at school, in caretaking, in creating* because it is energetically where we are ‘based’. Simple tips like this can help keep things clear and flowing smoothly at home, as well as in other parts of our lives.

Go ahead and take a few moments today to cleanse your doorways! Set the intention that any stagnant or lower vibrational energy remaining from old interactions be formally released. Speak positive loving words to your family or yourself. See how quickly it works.
