Experiencing Powerful Emotions (is nothing to be ashamed of)

This podcast and post are a conversation about the message in our emotions and the importance of giving ourselves the space to feel them. Even if they are big.

This is a material that was originally produced a few months ago. I am reposting today because we are in a moment where a little update, some material, and a re-share is merited. As I discussed in our seasonal update from yesterday, a major highlight in our season is learning to ground the power of Mars and Aries in our personal expression. This includes being able to talk about the feelings, thoughts, dreams, and desires we connected with during our more Venus oriented phase, last season. As with the harder harmonics of Mars in Aries, there can be a bit of a tendency to repress to the point of outburst. In the higher, we recognize that our emotions are valid. We express them, we experience them, we do not view ourselves as ‘less than’ because they are happening.

As I start off in the discussion and a key point to take away: Having powerful emotions is nothing to be ashamed of. It is a part of life that can be enriching and fun. Sometimes when they feel like they are ‘too much’ it is because our energy body and personal behaviour streams just need a little help to be able to manage them. Learning how to create a healthy and tuned up energy body, forming positive communication patterns, and learning to listen to your feelings as valid are all very doable routes to take. Tune in for a podcast about the message in our emotions about all of the above (and more).

“Experiencing Powerful Emotions”

As a former ’emotional outburster’ and current person who is ‘highly emotional’, I get into the truth of what it can be like to feel and experience big emotions. Taking it from an energy informed perspective, we view emotions as powerful messages from the soul. Sometimes warnings, others information sources about self and other, often keys to our own healing, our ‘feelings’ are an important part of the voice of our soul. You feel a lot? That is your soul talking. LISTEN!

As we discuss, the problem many of us experience with emotions is that we are taught to ignore and repress them. To judge self and other for having them. Guess what? That kind of repression can lead to explosions and lash outs. This in turn winds us into situations where one winds up destroying the very relationship, activity, or experience they were feeling so passionately about.

Have you been the person who threw a tantrum when you did not get your way? We all pretty much have been. So too have we hurt and been hurt by emotions and the ways they have been expressed (or not) by others. This is a no shame zone where we talk about why this happens and how to manage it. Nobody is perfect. We are all on this learning journey together. Let us be real about it, see ourselves for who we are, and keep it moving.

As I say in the podcast, caring powerfully about something is a good sign. It only gets destructive when have not yet figured out how to discern the message in our emotions and to positively direct the energy they represent. Learning how to experience and appreciate them as that supports emotional intelligibility and personal energy management. This is something I care a lot about. Here are some resources to support your journey (stay tuned for more):

“Breathe, Ground, Connect: Basics of Energy Management” is my #1 recommendation. Here, you learn a tool to repair your field, raise your vibration, and tune you to you (all in one fun practice). This is my #1 recommendation for two reasons. 1) Once an energy body is repaired and grounded, the experience of emotions is less explosive and much easier to manage on a day to day basis. 2) Although I did not talk about it in this podcast, many of us who have big emotions are also energy sensitive. Sometimes, those emotions are not even ours. We pick them up because our energy bodies are porous. What you learn in this quick study, high impact class helps you get all of the above managed. Though I did not speak about it in this podcast, another reason that we experience major emotions is that we are not grounding our energy. This is a brand-new article from my blog about getting grounded: Feeling Ungrounded: How to Identify if You are Ungrounded and Ways to Fix It – Crow Medicine: (crow-medicine.com)

Do not be ashamed of yourself

The above listed resources as a great start. I leave this article the way I began it and that is to stay this:

Do not be ashamed of your emotions. They are an important, vibrant part of you. Though it can feel uncomfortable to learn how to handle them, it is worth it.
