Awake All Night? Your Soul May Be Processing

Ah, sleep. Trusted friend. Blissful regeneration period where we get to refresh our souls and bodies for the next day. Until it is not.

We have all had those nights where no matter what we do we cannot seem to wind down. So too have we encountered those evenings where we bolt up, wide awake at 2:30 am with ALL of the thoughts on our mind. (Coincidentally also happening at moments where we have big meetings, games, obligations and other life things we really need to be rested for going on.)

For today, day 8 or our 10 day personal energy experiment, I recommend bringing your meditation practice into moments where you are seeking a little support winding down OR find yourself awake in the middle of the night with the racing thoughts.

Why Do I Wake Up with Racing Thoughts?

A lot of the time, our souls are processing right before bed or in the middle of the night. Part of why this happens is because we are so ‘go go go’ that it is the only window our bodies really have to do it. As we begin winding down physically our souls say ‘ok, now we sift’. Those middle of the night wake up thoughts are often unresolved issues and that is no coincidence. When we wake up with rushing thoughts, this is a sign that we are processing.

Mediation and harmonization are GREAT for helping us bring our souls back together AND for creating regular spaces for energetic processing. This is why I recommend we do it on a regular basis.

I know a lot of people are very busy and find that they do not have the opportunity to do the work. We can keep the late night wake up or hard to get to sleep moments from becoming the chronic meltdown. How? By giving ourselves the tools to manage these uncomfortable moments when they come up. Even better? Implement some processing time with yourself each day. Like I said on days 2 and 3, finding ways to fit in a few minutes here and there helps overall. But hey – this is part of what the experiment is about. For participants to see for themselves if this helps them have a better quality of life (or not).

One of the ways that I recommend you give the Venus meditation a go is to work with it when you wake up in the middle of the night or as part of your wind down routine. This will help you get back to feeling safe, secure, and ready for (or to get back to) blissful rest. Harmonizing your soul with the practice will help you feel that love harmonic, shift out any fear or doubt you may be feeling, and help you return to a feeling of peaceful calm.
